Undead Nation – Room managemement

Something I really enjoy about Undead Nation is the flexibility and creativity given to the base building.

Especially in the early level, I notice that people are not too aware that you can do this, so today, I wanted to share some tips around that.

1) Many people aren’t completely aware that you can move your rooms around > This can be done by going to – Menu > Edit. On the top left, click on the “Facility” (under defence) will allow you to move rooms around.

2) two or three rooms can be “joined” into a single larger room when put next to each other. When this happens, this can be seen with a green “chain” between rooms.

The Rooms have to be of the same type (e.g., Living room) and the same level as each other for this to work. So what’s so good to make it worth this trouble?

a) It is considered a single room – For defense, this means that you can have more than one unit defending the room, greatly increasing your chance of a successful defence.

b) Also the benefit of being considered a single room, it allows you to upgrade it as a single room. While you won’t get any discount for the upgrade, but you do get benefit of time, as it will be considered upgrading “one room”

So, for example, if you have a single room that takes one day and 50,000 bricks to upgrade. If you try to upgrade the rooms separately, it will cost you 1+1 days (2) and 100,ooo bricks. If it is connnected, it will still cost you 100,000 bricks, but 1 day to upgrade “both” rooms.

However, recently I have discovered that this can be turned the other way around. As we go higher in level, it can get trickier and trickier to get bricks in large enough quantity to cover the room conversion in one bunch. To manage this, I broke apart one section of the room and upgraded that room, now with just 1/3 of the cost of the “big room”. Sure, it will take more time, but my Survivor levels weren’t keeping up, so this strategy worked perfectly for me.

This also works perfectly with one of my resource management strategy that – one of the best way of not losing our resource, is making yourself look “small” (that is, not look like a fat target by having too much resources).

Just remember that you may have broken your formation.

Happy hunting.
