Undead Nation – Update 2.16

Undead nation has released their 2.16 patch and with it, comes a new survivor, David Zero and a new battle mode.

Before going too deep, I do have to commend the UN dev team the they do bring out new contents. Money grab or not, when the game model is that of constant improvement (That is, not in the way of releasing a final product), releasing new element is king.

So, let’s start with David “Architect” Zero. Apparently friend of Daniel, he’s a splash damage dealer who targets the highest attacker. From the testing, he seemingly has a near unlimited range (that is, his remote controlled bomb always goes for the toon with the highest attack). This will mean that he is able to hit units like Col Colbert and Jay uninterrupted, but as they have higher burst damage, you do always risk David being taken out before his job is done.

The second element introduced is Zombie Rush. It seems to be a response to people’s feedback that the game does not have a “farmable” element.

It’s a very easy concept – You go through round after round of zombies rushing you – at the beginning of each round, two unis with the highest level from each type (melee, splash etc) will be picked to fight the round. You win the round if you clear it in the time allocated, you lose if you don’t clear OR the 10 units that were picked dies.

Completing each round will give you a small reward (e.g., 5000 food) that you collect at the end, and some % of civilians saved. When enough civilians are collected, you get a somewhat better goodies. So far, I got 1 each of Transcendance wild card for common and uncommon toons. (Counts as any common or uncommon 3* toon for transcendance). Not bad, in my view, since it’s a freebie. – Note though, I get to about round 35~37, and that takes about 10~12 mins on screen that you can’t do anything, so pick a time where you can leave and forget.

That’s it for the day. Happy hunting.
