Today, for the first time, I’ve completed Special Assault – Hard in the Splash (Restaurant).
The team was
Wilma : 3 star (19)
Claudia : 3 star (15)
Soldier #17 3 star (17)
Doc : 3 star (16)
Soldier #47 : 5 star (20)
Jay : 4 star (17)
Col Colbert : 3 star (16)
Tactics : First Aid.
First thing you may or may not notice is that I opted not to use any splash units, despite them getting a bonus.
I’ve done a few runs, and it just didn’t work – so I tried to understand what’s going on.
The map doesn’t have the ceiling crawler, not too many pile, and large number coming towards you.
A fair few of them were ranged, getting past my tanks, killing both Astrid and Julia, so I debated if I wanted to get my Pyro ready. (He’s still 2 star, so doesn’t get the extended range bonus).
So I thought, why not try to out-range these guys. I was lucky enough to get some good Col Corbert, Jay and Yoona, who should out-range most shooters (except at the beginning of floors), and decided to give it a shot.
As a summary, it worked. – So as a nut-shell, my strategy is – Tank – either tanky, CC, or self heal, and get long range units – namely the Jay, Yoona and Col Colbert to take them down.
I run an occasional first aid tactics, but it seems like a good team.
Just another example of Undead Nation, where a little bit of creative team building can help you progress.
