I’ve recently built a bomb deck that works surprisingly well, so I thought I would share this. It might not work well late game, but it’s carried me well at the moment. (lv 69).
TL:DR, the deck is
- Hero (Golden Cog/Mechanist)
- Apothecary
- Clockwork Sphinx
- Bombot
The idea is to give Bombot as much armor as possible, and one-shot the team with one explosion. Apothecary and Sphinx both provides cycling and mana, the cog doubles armor.
Long version
I got inspired by the official forum telling fire bomb for easy farming. Since I didn’t have one, I wondered if the Bombot will do the job.
Bombot works by self-destructing with damage proportionate to his armor. Golden cog seemed the perfect tool, as it’s able to double armor to any ally. (And I thought what do you do with this?)
Apothecary is there to generate brown mana (used for both Bombot and Sphinx). Technically, she can be replaced with Apostle in a pinch, but I’m personally a fan of “change one gem to another” over “generate X”, as this conversion gives you more control to if you can get another turn or not.
Clockwork Sphinx turns out to be a pretty good mix to the combo. First, can pop a single colour, which is a good way to give you a boost of any colour. The two other little bonus are that it gives armor when the skill is used and combined with Bombot, gives team bonus. (By using the mechanist, you will also get another additional bonus to the kingdom bonus.
I’ve also leveled them up appropriately so that they don’t get accidentally one-shotted. Bombot would benefit from the love with some additional base armor so that when it’s doubled, you would get more.
In terms of order, hero is first – mainly to be the tank. Beside this, it doesn’t matter too much which order the others are, as they aren’t blocking much of each other. Bombot before Sphinx might be better for any of those pesky “attack the last unit) skills.
So long as you are drawing your attacks away from the bot, you would find this team pretty good and more importantly, it’s pretty darn satisfying when you see the whole of the opponent wiped in a single hit.
